Western third parties were always hesitant about handhelds, and they see the mobile space as a much easier place to work in. Western third parties likely won't come back, but with Monster Hunter in Japan they could reposition themselves to hold Japanese third party dominance through the cycle, leaving Vita with only the more obscure stuff, depending on how well they capitalize on it
(and before anyone pounces: does Vita really have any top-tier Japanese stuff that isn't multiplat with PS3, 360, or PS3 via PSN? They have a lot of games announced, but where's the beef out of that?)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
