They are expecting to ship a total of 16 million 3DS in all regions by March 2012

For the fiscal year.  That means 12.93 million in the next six months.

Which is simply not gonna happen.

Even if Japan goes totally crazy on the point of 3DS there's still a matter of lackluster western performance after price drop.

And it's unknown how much 3DS sales will be lost to Vita in initial months.
