SmashBros yah I have heard the line about trying to find developers. But honestly Microsoft started hiring developers for Halo4 along time ago before the game began development. These announcements barely made headlines but 343 was able to get the team they wanted. They posted ads saying they needed developers to work on a next-generation Halo title, this impacted a tad in the media but 343 and Microsoft did a great job at keeping it hush hush while finding all the developers they needed. Also arguing SmashBros Wii was announced around the same time. When SmashBros Wii was announced the game had already been in development awhile. A trailer was shown and you could see it was more then just a concept it was an actual product. Announcing a game before it has actually begun development is premature any way you look at it! We all knew SmashBros would come to WiiU their was no need to announce it until they had something to show! |
I always felt that Nintendo not announcing their titles early enough is a bad business decision. Many other companies announce their titles ahead of time to get people hyped. I'm glad Nintendo has been announcing more games because that's what people in this generation complained about when it came to the discussion of whether Nintendo is releasing games at the end of the year or not. This have happened last year, and then BAM, DKCR gets a trailer knocked out for all of us to drool over, but it still could've gotten more hype if it Nintendo had a trailer out many months before release. I guess they do this to make sure competition doesn't suddenly place itself next to their titles that aren't very popular.
Even so, it's great to know that they are working on so many games and contracts with other companies (which they should've done more on the Wii), because now those that have a 3DS (like myself) can sit back and relax knowing that games are coming out in the future. This was not the case with Wii after Mario Kart Wii was released in 2008.
