A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R Martin is my fave.

After that it's a tough call. The Royal Assassin series by Robin Hobb is fairly good, but so is The Malazan book of the Fallen (Steven Eriksson) and I'm part way through the Dune series which is brilliant so far.

Sword of Truth is probably one of my least faves (although I still managed to read all of the books in the series... it started well) as Goodkind just seems to over politicise everything and the scenarios between Richard and Kahlen become more and more contrived as the series went on.

Also, as we're comparing authors with ridiculously long series' I think Raymond E.Feist with his Midkemia/Magician books must be up there.
