Are you sure? They have specified that the game cards have space on them for saves and patches

Checked: Shuhei Yoshida twittered it on the 16th, so yeah. 4GB version shouldn't be more than 20$ though. How awful that price is depends a little on what transfer rates the chips have.

20$ for 4GB is acceptably pricy. I would go for it.
@icyedge. That explains why the 3DS released with SD card compatibility. I understand what you mean, but defending the proprietary memory move is ridiculous. Of course it means more $$$ for Sony but it's dumb in all ways.

I dont really defend it. Its more a conclusion then anything else. The market proved that your better to price the device at an accessible entry price and sell "non mandatory" over price accessories. If they chose embedded memory, they would sell the device at a loss or at 300$+, and this would be a bad move commercially.
About 3DS, its great that Nintendo was able to price it at a reasonable entry price without having to use this strategy.

Oh yeah I see what you mean. And even then ridiculous was too big a word anyways. Being a penny-pincher I have a hard time with all these money-making strategies, but if that's your logical conclusion you're absolutely right, people pay for useless accessories after the platform purchase. The only thing I have a hard time with is when the accessory is actually mandatory for play of some of the main software for the platform (i.e. downloadable content). If it were just the Wii plastic rackets I wouldn't care because I just wouldn't need to buy it ;)

I agree with you, it definitely is a problem when the overprice accessory is mandatory, borderline false representation in some case. Thats why I said "non mandatory". In reality, its pretty much mandatory if you want to use half of what the device is made for. The worst is that it actually works better commercially lol.
