I think it's pretty safe to say that DVD players and DVD movies aren't really going to be sold new in 2020.  You'll likely only be able to find them in used movie places like Movie Trading Company with their VHS section.  By 2020 we'll already be moving beyond BluRay.

In the same sense read/writeable CD's and DVD's will also fall out of popularity.  You might still be able to buy them like you can buy a 3.5" floppy disk today (you can actually!) but the fact they're already so inconvenient means they'll be phased out quickly.  Think about the last time you wrote a CD/DVD-- did it take a long time (compared to, say, a USB drive) and where you annoyed that you couldn't change what you had written unless you bought more expensive re-writeable CD's?  Writeable CD's only became as popular as they did because they had 500x the storage of a 3.5" floppy, never because they were easy to use.

And as for consoles, I kind of agree.  I don't think there will be a dedicated gaming console but it will turn into more of a dedicated media device that plays games among other things.  Looking at the 360 and PS3, they're already moving away from being a dedicated gaming device.  They're a gaming device first still, but by 2020 that could easiyl change,

DVD's and their players yes but he was lumping them together with Blu-ray which is where I disagree.  I think Blu-ray will be around for awhile

And I actually burn CDs and DVDs all the time.  And time wise it wasnt horrible.
