Weren't you the guy who wants an iphone cause he was going into mobile gaming business?
You have to think differently with the business model at hand.. yours is outdated.. and comparing apples to oranges... besides the unlimited shelf time you get with DL games.. Level 5 is probably making a game with exra rooms/levels as DLC maybe even Ad suported..
Epic games stated they earned 20 million dollars with 5 million paid downloads with Infinity Blade.. but 4 months earlier they earned 11 million.. that's 9 million in 4 months.. and "Since we launched IAP (in app purchases.. dlc) in Infinity Blade, it accounts for about 45 percent of our revenue," So Epic is making a buckload of money for a 2 million dollar game cause in the long run they can keep the game fresh, in the spotlight, in a cheap way..
Ad example: Angry Birds made 1 million dollar in ad revenue a month back in december 2010.. when they had 30 million dowloads.. this month they have had reached 400 millionth download of Angry Birds..
if Level 5 plays it cards right with a good game and with reguraly DLC and maybe Ads.. they'll surpass the ROI on a DS game..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)
