I'll make this simple since my time is pressed at the moment. Kinect has better support in regards to games that require the Kinect. It has the kind of support that can actually sell hardware. This is what Move lacks and why it'll continue to fade into obscurity.
Argue more if you want but ultimately you're defending a perhiperal that failed.

what are these Kinect only games that sell great??? Cause besides DC and KS everything else sold meh and flopped. Your whole argument was that MOVE has no support I tore that to peieces and your trying to move goal posts. again support has nothing to do with sales, support is simply how much games are being made for said periphial. MOVE and Kinect are about even. Ifyu wanna pull the Kinect only argument, there are 3 Kinect only games coming and 4 MOve only games

No, Kinect Sports and Dance Central are games that did very well. Games don't necessarily need to sell millions to be a hit. Casual games generally aren't known for their AAA budgets. I would consider games like Kinectimals, Joyride, Zumba, and Your Shape hits as well. Then there are other games that sold 300K - 500K which is good enough for developers to keep supporting the hardware with games that actually require the hardware. Imagine that!
Now show me a list of Move required games that sold well. Show me this non-existent list.
There are considerably more than 3 Kinect required games coming. In fact, these are the games coming this month...

So those games are hits?? by that logic, The Fight, RE5 gold, Sports Champions, Eyepet, Start the Party, Time Crisis, The shoot, EA SPorts Active did well too??
I dont know why your hung up on those whether something requires Kinect or MOve, if it is compatible it is a Kinect Move game, deal with it. I get that you troll anything Sony, but at the very least do some research so you look like you know what your talking about. There are quite a few games being released that uses Move, hell they were probably more Move compatible games released this year than Kinect
|
RE5, Eyepet, and Time Crisis do not require the Move. EA Sports Active 2 does not use Move. Sports Champions was a hit. The Shoot, The Fight, and Start The Party sales are nothing to really boast about.
Move was destined to under perform due to it being too similar to the Wiimote. Bear in mind the Wii is significantly cheaper than a PS3 (with Move) and has a superior library of casual titles. Sony and other developers are not delivering intriguing software that actually requires the Move. Putting Move compatibility in games that use a joystick can help market the Move, but its not the kind of support that really pushes hardware.

I wasnt boasting about their numbers, but you seemed to be boasting some Kinect numbers that are nothing to be proud of yourself.
I agree with the bolded I do, but you keep saying it underperformed. According to who?? YOu? Who are you?(or me for that matter). YOu dont have stock in Sony your not a share holder, and if those guys say they made a profit off of it and it did better than they thought, then that means it did not flop or underperfom. I think you just need to reevaluate what underperform really means

I think you're implying I was boasting about games selling 300K - 500K. Those kind of sales are respectable for 3rd party Kinect games with no or very little marketing. Those kind of numbers have encouraged developers to keep supporting Kinect with games designed for the hardware. However, a Move required game hitting 300K is a much more difficult feat. Even 1st party games struggle to do it. A poor selling Kinect title is the average performance of a Move title.
Now what's my point? The Kinect and Move ultimately had the two same goals. 1) Bring in casual audiences 2) Sell software. Move didn't do either very well and sales dropped fast. I assure you Sony's goal with this peripheral was not to sell a bunch at launch and then disappear. Making some money doesn't mean it a hit, because it clearly wasn't enough for Sony to really keep pushing. Now its just there like any random peripheral.
