Gameplay? you mean jumping on platforms over and over since the 80s? Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby all you do is run from right to left and jump on things.

Lol, I got to ask, what's wrong with jumping on platforms?

Its repetitive, its nothing new the gameplay has barely evolved since the NES, its straight forward and simple compare something like Donkey Kong and Kirby to Batman Arkham City or Red Dead Redemption or Uncharted, its laughable in comparison.

Even comparing Mario to Little Big Planet is pathetic because LBP you can do a vast amount more than mario, it beats it in every possible way.

Not only that the games have no story, trophies to extend the play, HD graphics, good controls and characters that cant even talk.

You mean like the gameplay of MGS4 (a game from your profile list) barely evolved since the very first MGS? Yeah, I get what you mean now.

You talk about story like it is the most important aspect of games... You probably never play any sports games, since they don't have any story cut-scenes. The devs clearly don't improve controls, gameplay and presentation in them though, right?

Now, your mention of Red Dead Redemption is pretty laughable. The game may be great, but it's not a game that pushed the envelop except maybe for its superficial coating. It's a far-west game that takes every single gameplay design ideas from the GTA series. That game could have been called Grand Theft Horse.

Now here's a video of the evolution of Mario games:
