keep in mind this is not what Valve made just what the users that created items got, Valve likely made much more from the last year off of the game.

So, it's just what the users made from their own creations, and not what Valve's cuts from those creations as well?

it's just the money payed out to the community, I imagine that a couple of them got quite the windfall.
