What's the most shocking to me is brakes. an 80's car brakes sqweak so much, and since ABS is non existant or not good in old car, you get a lot of tire squeal too, which sound different over bumpy surfaces then smooth ones. Sound in Forza 4 is so good, I'm not looking into surround sound. No game has ever made me do that.
