If that were the case, then every shooter that was outsold by CoD is a flop. Every fighting game that was outsold by Super Smash bros is a flop. Every platforming game that was outsold by NSMBWii is a flop. The X360 is a flop. All of these are obviously untrue. 3-5m units is a number that Sony rarly sees & I'm pretty sure they're happy with what they've sold & the money they've made. I highly doubt they regret the release of Move. Sure, they would be happier if they had more sales, but you could say the same about Kinect, or any product for that matter. Also, we have no concrete evidence on what Sony's expectations were. We don't know if or how much, the Move met their expectations. 'Wants' are different from 'expectations'. I'm pretty sure Sony envies MS Kinect success, but that doesn't translate into their product being a failure. The Move flopping is an illusion caused by the huge success of Kinect. |
Hardware performance is a different subject matter then software performance. Those game examples mean nothing.
360 has surpassed origional Xbox sales by more then double and is gonna see a 10 year lifespan. Im sure that goes in with MS's expectations. On top of that, MS really only sees Sony as their main competitor. 360 still has a 3 million lead. So I have no idea where you think the 360 is a flop.....
I have no concrete evidence but I also have common sense. Sony clearly wanted the market that bought Kinect but lost out. A 5 million user base after a year isnt exactly something to brag about. Move flopping is a fact, not illusion, cause by the success of kinect.
Its ok, you dont work for Sony. A product flopping has no effect on us, unless there are feelings of fanboyism.
