PS3 seems to have suffered vs 360 in a lot of areas due to the non-piratability of the PS despite Playstation literally being a synonym for game console in a lot of areas that had shitty nintendo distribution in the 8 and 16 bit eras. |
The PS2 has sold over 135 million consoles. PS1 sold over 105 million consoles. Both PS1 and PS2 were two easy consoles to hack that helped increased hardware sales of both systems.
Instead of upgrading from PS2 to PS3. PS2 owners have bought either a 360 or a Wii because both 360 and Wii have mods. PSP and DS are all easy to mod/hack. PS3 is the odd one out but offers consumers Blu-Ray player, Wi-Fi, top end graphics games and high end CPU.
