I think it only seems that way.. you get faster into a event but then you have to wait untill the cars load one for one...
And I really dislike the daily play multiplier.. getting 200% credits and xp really ruins it when you are at a lower level.. you gain levels waaay too fast and have more then enough cash to upgrade the car that you use for the coming races to race with two fingers in your nose... it's a really n00b friendly decision but it's a horrible decision, takes out the fun of spending your credits wisely and close finish racing..
