Then again, I've never really heard anything positive about Wisconsin as a state or their people, so I better refrain from saying FIBs in the future. I now watched the highlights and yes, the Lions had their fair share of big plays, including an 88 yard TD run. Well, the only way this game can be explained is that the Bears pretty much always started with bad field position. The team was able to move the ball quite well, but still only made it into scoring range three times (no turnovers, no missed field goals). So there must have been quite a few drives where they managed to rack up 30 to 40 yards and then had to punt the ball. So what's the upcoming schedule for the Bears? An uphill battle or opponents that make it realistic to end the first half of the season with 5-3? |
The Bears should have attempted another field goal but instead of that Lovie Smith decided to not go for it on fourth and 1 while the score was still 0-0 (they didn't make it make it) and lose two timeouts in the process. One he lost while trying to draw the Lions offsides and calling a timeout with one second left and the other challenging the spot when it was obvious that they were at least a foot short. I'm not a fan of our head coach in case you didn't guess.
The next three games for the Bears are home at the Vikings, against the Bucs in London, and at the Eagles. I'll let you predict how it'll go since I feel currently like they are going to go 2-14. :p
