In a CrazzyMan post, he was trying to compare PS2 to PS3 sales at different points. When other consoles were introduced into the discussion, he said he merely wanted the PS2 and PS3 compared, and if anyone wanted to compare, say PS2 to Wii, then they should create their own thread. I immediately took up his offer... except I didn't actually make a threat. I simply compiled a bunch of sales data on the three current generation consoles, and he sixth generation consoles, except for the Dreamcast (which lacks sales data in the graphs).
The comparison I did I saved in Word (it's not totally complete yet). It's close to 20 pages long, and includes:
- Summaries of the current generation consoles
- Brief summaries of the last generation consoles (excluding the Dreamcast)
- Direct comparisons of the above consoles by year, week, and from launch, along with summaries and conclusions for each
Now I was just wondering if there's any actual interest in a comparison this big. I would probably split it into multiple posts, perhaps in the same actual thread, so that you could read it going down. The thing is, all the data I use can be found on this site, if you can be bothered to actually look. I just think it'd be interesting to have a spot where a whole bunch of data is visibly stored, along with some analysis. I would also like to see what other conclusions people can make from the data.
If there's any interest, leave a post. You can also PM me with any suggestions, or any perticulars you would like me to include.
Thanks!
