It is just as much a platforming game as God of War is a Platformer/puzzle game.

It is mostly a TPS with the minor genre being platforming, in my opinion. You spend 70-80% of the time hiding behind cover and shooting. The platforming parts aren't actually all that long. I'd say it's about as even a spread as God of War does with it's puzzles and platforming elements.

Platforming is not a minor genre. It's as important as the shooting. The platforming sections are what define the Uncharted series, not the shooting. Scenes like jumping from truck to truck, scaling a train, jumping out of a building etc. are what make Uncharted it's own game. Without those sections, Uncharted would be mainly a TPS.

Ask someone to Think back to the most significant moments in the Uncharted series & they're probably gonna think of the platforming sections or a combination of platforming & shooting sections. Either way, platforming is definitely not minor in the series.

You're talking about Uncharted 2, where they fixed a lot of the retarded platforming elements. (Just my opinion, sorry if it's harsh).

My friends have all played UC1 and UC2 and they all agree that the first game has barely any meaningful platforming and is mostly just shooting and covering. It is very much so a minor genre element compared to the TPS elements which easily take up more than 70% of the game.

Uncharted 2 definitely has a lot more platforming in it, but I think it's rather silly to say the first game is a platformer. It's like you don't know what real platforming is... I'm a fan of the series, don't get me wrong, and I'm going to the huge Uncharted event on Oct 19, but to argue that the first game is a platformer is pure silliness!
