Well famous film and game writers Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen from Toy Story and the recent Skylanders Spyro's adventures have oppened there mouths and talked about something nobody expected to hear. The writers say that they have an interest to continue writing for film and that the next movie they plan to pen will be none other than a FarmVille big screen adaptation.

"So, yes, we will continue writing movies. We are also working on several new and very exciting opportunities. We're in conversations with Zynga to do something with one of their brands. Can't really say too much on that front yet, but 'Old MacDonald' didn't have a factory, if you get our drift."

Rumors had been going around that Zynga was planning on following UbiSoft's move and moving from games and expanding into film. The rumors indicated the first film based on a Zynga property was going to be MafiaWars. Zynga won't officially confirm that a Farmville film is in the works.

This has me a little suprised. Of all the game franchises that I would expect to make a seemless transition to film, FarmVille is not one I'd expect. The property is very popular in gaming however the plot is it worthy of a full fledged feature film adaptation? These two writers are very talented but could they pull off a FarmVille film? Judging from their past works I'd suspect it to be an animated film but is there a possibility of live action? What about Mafia Wars would that even be a good property to transition to film?

Does Zynga's properties in general have what it takes to seemlessly be adapted to the big screen? They are the last game company I would expect to expand into film. In fact an animated television series based on there properties sounds far more logical to me then to jump straight to film.

What do you think about this? Remember it hasn't officially be confirmed and is based on an interview with IGN!
