it wouldnt work, the PSeye isnt anywhere near as accurate as the Kinect, so DC would suck on PS3 |
It really could work. I have seen Kinect be innacurate with people with dresses and baggy jeans in Dance Central. It's no big deal. As there is no direct equivalent of user seeing themselves when it tells you your error either so its not like most would notice(because the people playing certainly didn't) as long as it's not off to often. You are too busy trying to groove and enjoying the social atmosphere. You could use move to help with checking for hand/arm movements.
Not to say that without M$'s software it wouldn't be more difficult to program for the camera but Just Dance is larger than Dance Central and even less accurate. I know people of people that prefer Just Dance and it's not because of accuracy. That's a core gamer thing YOU are worried about that most consumers aren't. It's more like song selection and contetnt they prefer and with 2 main titles plus side games and cheaper prices the answer is superflous as to which sales attest. $190 for Kinect and DC versus every copy of JD available and extra wii motes at that price is a very compelling difference.
There is a strong argument that there isn't much of an audience for these games. However I would argue that simply because these games have really yet to appear with any backing even Sony's own offering was lackluster. People don't expect this software on PS3 because it hasn't been there for 4 years. You have to build an audience. JD never sold amazing out of the gate. It was support and andvertising that built it to what it is. They were helped greatly by the Wii being the place people expect fun party games because that is where that type of software has appeared and been backed on that console.
