I'm guessing the PC version did not do amazing and with the Wii's software and hardware sales in decline with WiiU right around the corner its probably in their best interest to cancel it. I mean if the PC version came out in 2008 and the Wii version still wasn't ready for market now in late 2011 the title is a lost cause.
Obviously the studio realized that the title wasn't worth pursuing any further, which was probably the smart decision. The PSP version would have done even worse then the Wii version. Writing the title off and bringing the studio in a new direction must have been a hard decision for the creators of the title. But I'd say it was probably the smart one, it shouldn't take 3 years to port a PC title especially one that looks like that to Wii.
Honestly I'm not that dissapointed, sure another Wii release would be a good thing but the title looks like an early DreamCast or PS2 game. F-Zero on GameCube looked ten times better, the Wii is capable of much more. I'd rather spend my money on a well produced game that interests me!
