Its sort of sad that Nintendo needs to release so many colors so early in the consoles life cycle. It worked alright with GameCube and GBA but colors have been used sparingly as of late to boost sales and carry the device. I think the Monster Hunter model is ingenious Sony was famous for creating limited edition versions of the PSP for several games, they do sell and I am glad to see Nintendo embracing this strategy!
Look at X-Box limited edition versions come out with the biggest games like Call Of Duty, Nintendo could likely be successful at shifting millions of units to collectors and fans of certain games. I wonder if Nintendo secured an exclusive CoD or StarWars title and created a limited edition model for the North American market how successful it would be.
I know it was the limited edition Darth Vader PSP that finally convinced me to purchase one. I wonder if an exclusive collectable 3DS model could have the same effect in North America. I wonder how many people will buy the Monster Hunter 3DS and how many would be interested in future third party collector editions in north america?
