Interesting. Dead Island and Homefront both fell flat with reviewers and both have sold relatively well. I'm not sure what was different about Homefront that it captured gamers' attention, but I really think Dead Island caught some kind of pent up desire for some first person zombie action. There's been nothing really since L4D2. And Dead Island with it's tropical resort setting also gave it that classic sort of fun B-Movie vibe. So great timing to fill a void.

I guess so, im sick of zombies myself (move on to lycans) but at least they are not ruined like vampires are ruined. and the tropical setting is different
