I blame one thing.
Removal of Sticky in individual forums.
People now looses track of the thread and it is never seen again, even if it was popular before the update.
And also, people put far less efford in threads. I remember the official SMG2 one, it had all the latest info, trailers, soundtrack and a lot of stuff, plus custom made sigs, avatars and daily quizes and contests. Or the original Skyward Sword thread, which had every single detail available (aka. few 
) and had a really nice main topic, with lots of efford (made by the amazing morenoingrato )
Now, the one that just died was a bunch of copy-paste.
