Amazing Gears 3. Makes you think why Epic doesn't go multiplatform.......Gears could easily reach Call of Duty sales(20million+) if it was also on PS3. Is Microsoft paying Epic an amount equal to 8 million game copies sold? If not I suggest Epic rethink this exclusive thing.

Anyway these amazing Gears 3 boost gets me thinking about how the PS3 has no system seller. I hope for next-gen Sony focuses on quality over quantity. Sure having a ton of exclusives is a great bullet point but most gamers don't have enough time or money to buy all of them or end up getting them used at Gamestop.

So 360 version sells 8 million, you think it'd sell 12 million on PS3? lol. It wouldn't even sell 6 mill on PS3, certain franchises are just ingrained to certain userbases. Gears could reach 4 mill maybe 5 on PS3.

And we have no idea what MS/Epic relationship is, I'm sure Epic get something out of it.

While i respect your opinion and status on this site. Your really not in a position to say Gears would sell X amount on PS3. Truth is none of us know what kind of sales a Gears game could do on PS3 because there is yet to be one.  It could do 6 million or it could flop and not sell 1 million who knows.

As far as franchises being ingrained to certain user bases. Resident Evil is more ingrained on the PS3 side imo, but it still sold 3M on 360. FF 13 sold close to 40% on 360 for a first time main FF title (XI doesn't count)   I know KZ and Resistance don't sell alot for a AAA shooter, but PS3 has alot of shooter fans both in FPS and TPS. Hell it's most hyped game this year is a TPS.  CoD didn't start off selling 20M right off the bat, it took time for the series to grow. The same thing can happen with Gears. With every new entry, it would get more hype and might eventually get to CoD status and if that's the case, the PS3 would play an important part of that.   That's why I agree with VGKing..

It's pretty easy to know what kind of numbers it would do on PS3. Any ports would struggle to reach 1.5 mill, any simultanious releases would go vastly in 360's favour.

XIII did not sell close to 40% on 360!! Dunno what figures you're looking at. Gears has had 2 sequels to grow now and this will be the first one that will show modest growth, it won't ever get as big as COD. Neither will halo, they're both near their ceiling.

Well okay i rounded for agruements sake, but it was close.

FF XIII PS3 - 4,699,608

FF XIII 360 - 1,822,921

1,822,921 divided by 4,699,608 * 100 = 38.78%.

Which is like i said, close to 40%...
