While I would have my doubts that Nintendo would use this much memory, in a market where gaming PCs have 16GB of memory and graphics cards with 1GB to 2GB of memory it would not be that surprising to see a system (like the Wii U) with 2GB to 4GB of high quality memory ...
Hypothetically speaking, if Nintendo was following the same basic strategy of hardware development that worked with the Gamecube, with how far technology has developed it is not out of the question that Nintendo could have (in the range of) 64 to 128 MB of memory embedded onto their CPU and GPU, and another 1 to 2 GB of RAM.
