And how is he right? He pretty much said every PRO on 3DS is suddenly a CON and listed a bunch of pointless PROs on Vita. |
He's right in saying that Monster Hunter will come to the PS Vita inevitably and that 3rd party progress is pretty weak overall (thank god for Capcom). He is also right in saying that a year earlier release isn't always a pro, it was for consoles like the Xbox 360 but definitely not for a console like the Dreamcast, it's too subjective to be in the "Pro" section.
Most of his other 3DS cons were complete crap though, I mainly agreed with his Vita pros such as:
Backwards compatibilty with the PSP is pretty huge (should be listed in the 3DS section too). Third party support seems strong for Vita, but Nintendo said the same back when the 3DS was revealed and look at it now, it's too early to judge that one, I'm not touching it. 3G is also a pretty big pro, imagine Call of Duty online on-the-go. As for no clear system selling games, I think the PS Vita does have enough of these, I would say the PS Vita has the same amount of system selling franchises as the 3DS but but nothing on the same level as games like Monster Hunter, Pokemon or Mario.
The PS Vita and the 3DS are debuting at the same price, like he said. If the OP was referring to the price of the consoles in the same time frame then I don't think one being more expensive could be considered a con, especially when things like value for money come into play. Also, the Vita not having UMD is obviously a huge pro, the UMD drive is bulky and sucks up power, why bother with it when you can download the same PSP games digitally...minus Crisis Core. >=(
