Honestly I expected Ashton to take the show in a new direction. I honestly have thought that Two and a Half men has been steadily going down hill quality wise since its debut. Sheen was hilarious and I bought every season, but within the past three or so seasons I have noticed fewer and fewer funny parts.

In fact I think Angus T. Jones was the funniest character in the last few years, not Charlie.

Having been a huge That 70's show fan and loving Ashton in some of his movies I was really hoping he would give us a drop dead performance. I ended up thinking ( I don't think Ashton added more to the show then he took. He replaced Charlie but didn't make the show any funnier). That's my impression from the first episode.

I will watch a few more episodes before deciding whether to continue watching. I agree with everyone the only reason 2 and a half men did so well was the publicity from Charlies departure. Without all that publicity the show would never have performed nearly that high, now that the first episode has aired and everyone saw what the hubbub was all about. Numbers are going to drop very fast, the question is will T&HM be able to retain the same audience they had with Charlie.

I'll consider the show a success when the show matches or beats last years numbers on a regular basis!

And that's quite bad, especialyl when a show wasn't any good in the first place.

I honestly don't understand why they continue shows when main characters leave. First The Office, now this. Just end it already!!!
