That really sucks, but I'm with chocoloco on this one.

I wish there was a death penalty in my country. Would make a massive difference.

How so? Crime rates in the US are still very high compared to other countries which don't have the death penalty. Not to mention that this guy was essentially convicted based on circumstancial evidence and faulty witnesses. which is simply absurd.

if you kill people they aren't black holes for tax money theoretically.

It's already been proved by sudies that it's actually cheaper to lock someone in prison for life than to sentence that person to death (due to all the retrails, the cost of the actual procedure etc.). Not to mention that money shouldn't be an issue in such a situation: if you lock someone innocent in prison for life, they have a chance to prove their innocence eventually (or at least they won't be dead), wheras if you exectue an innocent person, saying mea culpa won't really solve anything after the deed is done. And of course there's also the moral issue if such a punishment (the death penalty) should be carried out on anyone regardless of actual guilt.

I wonder if those witnesses that lied will be charged with perjury.

theoretically you would not have that extra crap and you would not kill innocent people. But yes in reality and in the current US system you are correct.

I have been arrested wrongfully on a basis that since I was bi-polar, the medication caused me to crash into a cone. And they kept delaying drugtests (which is the simple-est most crystal clear way to answer). Which resulted in lawyer fees. I know this is insignificant compared to the death penalty but I know the US judicial system can be incompetent (As I think most other places of around the world can be).

I guess, I'm just a bit apathetic  about this, there's other things I care more about to make a difference with.  As long as the system stays the way it is. These things are going to happen unfortunately.

There are numerous or a plentiful amount of cases that aren't fair. But hopefully, cases like these will encourage people with law as their passion to fix these stupid things.

Sorry, my viewpoint is a bit in nowhere'sville.
