Here's the deal.

Exercise is good for your health, but it's boring so nobody wants to do it.

Video games are fun, but their bad for your health while you sit on your ass.

Wii Fit is healthier than normal video games while being more interesting than normal exercise. That's the appeal. The comparison with DDR is valid, but DDR is targeted at younger folk who want to dance in clubs, while Wii Fit is targeted at the whole family. That's why it will beat DDR.

That makes absolute sense :P I put together that answer in my head while reading some of the other posts, I just have a different take on excersize I guess xD

It's true that this game has little appeal to people who don't need a fun motivation to get physical activity, but how many people find physical activity to be fun in and of itself? If the numbers were large, the developed world wouldn't have a looming obesity problem.

I can totally understand how a person like you wouldn't be interested. Since you get good exercise on your own, you'd rather go for an experience which is purely focused on fun when you sit down to game.

I get a fair amount of physical activity in my ordinary day as well, but I'm still considering getting Wii Fit simply because the rest of my family doesn't. I'd like my siblings to be healthy, so if I think they'll use it I may buy Wii Fit.
