Sales - Did you know? - View Post

Vagabond, thank God the record is straight. If it didn't get straighten... I don't know what I would have done. (this is to be taken in a jokingly way...)

Oyvoyvoyv: Yeah. Forza 2 I believe became a pack in with 360s at some point. Same with Marvel Ultimate Alliance. COD4 and AC probably would not have sold as well on the Wii, but we will never know.

Also, the problem with looking at the list of Wii games is that not a lot of games deserve to sell a whole bunch. M&S@O probably sells because of the Mario and Sonic thing. RE4 is a remake of a game, and has doubled the expectations of Capcom. RE:UC is selling very decently as well. Check here. A lot of games sell at least 500,000 (30 total), whereas the 360 has 60 games above 500,000. That's exactly half, in half the time. Not bad. Also, since it costs more to mae 360 games, those 30 Wii games are more "successful" (in terms of profit) than the lower parts of the 360 list (the ones that are barely above 500,000 units sold). Also, a lot of games sell better on the Wii than other consoles. WiiSports probably would be an "epic failure" on anything else.

This allows the market to expand, which is never a bad thing. Think about only having action movies or horror films, it's better with romance, westerns, etc, even if you don't like those types of movies, simply because more people are watching movies, which brings prices down, projects a favorable image of movies into the public, etc. Now that more people are playing games, it should help bring down the insane game prices (hopefully) because more people will buy them, and will (hopefully) make more people understand games, even ones they don't like (FPS, more bloody/mature games for all that WiiSport casual gamers), thus leading to a reduction in people like that attorney whose name has slipped my mind. Don't have time to look it up... classtime.
