I guess you must have been sleeping when they announced Super Mario Land 3D and Mario Kart 7, which are amongst the top selling 1st party franchises for Nintendo right? And they're not coming out next year, November and December 2011 for both.
The only 1st party killer franchise that just needs to be announced is a new Pokemon game.
