  Yes, you can. And actually you can go back to Skyloft anytime you want.  

Are you sure? I thought you would have to go back up to the sky if you wanted to change your underworld location.

You have to go to Skyloft only to find new places, not the already discovered, there's a magical gathering statue that have some teleport system of some sort.

Even you can do sub-quests and find secret islands with unique items to find in Skyloft apparently.

Then you should be able to walk or ride to previous places then. I think those statues are just for going to the sky.

Anyways, time will tell :D

Well, Twilight Princess has it's system, this will have too, maybe only for Skyloft but something it's there.
