There's no excuse for the lack of female users on VGChartz. There are more and more female gamers each year , I know just from going to PAX. Three years ago girls were about 5% of the people at PAX, last year up to about 10% this year about 17-20%. Fact is game companies are noticing the trend and are capitalizing on the market.

So why aren't their girls on VGChartz and other gaming forums? Because all the nerds and members of such forums are so desperate to talk to a girl that they over whelm the few girls who come on. Then the guy users not only on VGChartz but other forum's make lewd comments about how girls are sexy or bitches etc...etc...

I can't talk personal experience because I'm a guy. But I know girls who won't even play X-Box Live anymore because every time they go on they get dozens of friend requests and get hit on constantly if they use their headsets. Now most girls I know have names on Live that you can't tell if their female and they don't chat with headsets outside of private convo's because they don't want guys knowing they are girls.

Even some of the famous girls of VGChartz like vgchartzgirl have been driven away. In fact just look at how many friends she has on her list compared to me for example? She has over 4,000 I have less then a hundred. Its that kind of stuff that I'm guessing keeps girls away.

Honestly its like a meat market when ever a girl posts. Guys go nutz, its sort of sad because we should be gentleman and chivalrous not degenerate scum bags. I'm sure if guys stopped hitting on every girl who joins VGChartz, if the lewd comments stopped and girls were treated like every other gamer. Then I'm sure we'd have a ton more.

In fact I'm guessing alot of girls follow these forums and don't post because while their interested in the topics and convo's they probably don't want to deal with all the hitting on and harrasment.

Of course I'm not a girl, but that's why most of my female friends don't go on gaming forums or XboxLive. Its not a problem just here on VGChartz its the male gaming community in general!

Are we thnking of the same VGChartzgirl?  The VGChartz girl I remember hacked the site on a few occasions and sent a friend request to every single active member on the site at the time.  Then she bragged about how easy it was!

And look at members like Lolita (our longest female member, I think), Onna76, Nintendofangirl, slick trick (G0d, she was hot!), and trashleg.  I don't know about other sites but I don't think that any of us treated them weird.  I mean, it's not like any of us will ever meet any of them in person.  They live in other cities--often times, entirely different countries!  My penis just can't reach that far!  It was the girls (who were sometimes, guys) like P_Chan, Gballzack, Girl Gamer Elite, and a couple of others.  The latter few seemed to really enjoy talking about nothing but sex (GGE even PM'd me some Kitty-Porn---featuring cat girls!).  They got a lot of attention as a result and they gave girl members a bad name.

But like I said in an earlier post, all a female gamer has to do to be respected on this site is post in the topics that interest them and have some idea what they're talking about.  This is a gaming/social site.  It's not Love Connection.  It's not that serious.

Huh wondered why I had her on my friends list lol! Did not know that about VGChartzGirl then again I wasn't as active back then as I am now! I wonder why she wasn't banned if she hacked the site? Wouldn't that get you a permaban?

I mentioned specifically other forums because the lack of girls on gaming forums is not unique to VGChartz, there haven't been many girls on any of the forums I have ever been a member of. Notice I mentioned X-Box Live because I actually know girls who won't talk on Mic's and changed their Live accounts to hide the fact they are girls.

As for the comments on VGChartz, they are much better then some other forums but if you follow off-topic or go in the NSFW section. But I gotta admit VGChartz is better then most sites and gaming communities. But again I am not a girl so I dunno if half of the hit ons that occur are flattering or offensive.

I have tried to get female friends on gaming forums and they usually say they don't want to get hit on and stuff. These same friends don't use Mic's on Live and such. Its just male gamers tend to come on strong when they see female gamers.

Man you were PM'd kitty porn, thats screwed up. Also the sexual talk from those female members probably contributed to other girls not joining.

Like you said a girl should and is usually able to post her opinion and contribute to the site. I think we have some very respectable female users even though we don't have all that many.

I dunno I should try again to get some girls on VGChartz, they write it off without even checking it out. Which I bet alot of girls do, that and those who don't probably read articles and watch but don't post.

But there is no lack of girl gamers, PAX was full of them and I don't buy the fact that these girl's are less gamers and like to talk about games less then we do. A ton of them were in cosplay and I met some real dedicated female gamers, which I don't see on VGChartz or other gaming forums. So there has to be a reason these dedicated female gamers aren't here or other forums, something is keeping them away and I'm just pointing at the logical things that might be preventing girls from signing up!
