*bolded* I'm trying my damndest to take the high road on this one...... Anyway, I have three little sisters. Two of them are simply phenomenal at video games (one's a third grade teacher and the other is in school to be an LPN). The third is working in a grocery store. In my particular brand of research--which is no research at all--girls who play video games succeed in life and girls who don't end up working at a grocery store. The facts don't lie. I don't think there needs to be special marketing of games towards women. As long as companies make good games, they'll find their way to gamers. All they have to do is promote these games where women will actually find out about them like how they show video games during pro wrestling so that guys will know about them. Something as simple as showing a girl playing a game and smiling (like how they did with Brain Age or Just Dance) would go a long way. More and more females are playing games these days and as far as I know, your money is just as green as mine (unless you live in some foreign country where the money is blue or grey or something). Not marketing in a way that women become aware of a good game is just leaving money on the table. |
it should be marketed but how? maybe getting a celebrity that atracts girls of a certain age to endorse the game? i see little girls with hanna montana PSPs around, it sells hardware might sell games as well
