Probably iPod gaming just because the less I have to carry, the better, but I don't really game much on the go.

Understandable.  But what good is carrying a pocketbook if you don't carry a portable gaming system?  Sometimes, I wish I were a girl just so I can carry a purse!  You just don't know how good you have it.

-Have you tried Kinect yet and was it the most awesome experience of your video game life?
Nope.

"Nope you didn't play it" or "Nope it wasn't awesome"?  One weekend with me and my people and you'll be hooked.  Get your hands on Dance Central and Fruit Ninja, then get back to me.

-Do you tend to get a lot of respect when gaming online or do people suddenly act crazy when they find out that a girl is playing online (usually, when I play online with a girl, everyone is pretty cool).

People act pretty normally for the most part.

That's good.  Sometimes, gamer guys get a bad rap.  Most of us are pretty cool....unless you have an Xbox Live camera or a PSEye.  Then all bets are off!

-Do you prefer social gaming experiences (Uno, Call of Duty) or do you prefer solo experiences (JRPG's, Adventures)
Solo games unless it's local coop or I'm playing with a friend.

Becoming harder and harder in this online era.  I never knew so many chicks (you chicks don't mind being called chicks, do you?) were into JRPG's, though.  Who woulda guessed?

-What is your opinion of Cooking Mama? Is she the greatest female role model in all of gaming?
Mostly indifferent towards her. Greatest role model? Not if I can cook better than she can.... LOL Bonus points if you get that!

Obviously, you have no idea who you're dealing with.  I've got Cooking Mama, Cooking Mama 2, AND Gardening Mama!  "Even better than Mama!"

-Which company provides the kinds of games you like to play? Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft?

-And finally, what is your take on "Nubaggeddon"?

I don't plan on getting a 3DS. I've tried it and it makes me a little sick. I usually just turn off the 3D, in which case, what's the point? Even so, it feels like a misstep on Nintendo's part not to include it from the very beginning. Such a large add-on sort of defeats the purpose of having a portable in the first place and divides the consumers. Which begs the question: Why is Capcom putting Monster Hunter 4 on 3DS and not Vita?

*Jaw drops*  You know too much.  You may have to be eliminated.


Here's a question for the rest of you ladies: Do you find story and characters play a more important role than other factors in determining whether a game is good for you personally? (I'm getting the sense that this is so...)

I ask this because I started getting into games through Final Fantasy and still enjoy playing a lot of RPGs as well as more plot-heavy adventure games. Some of my friends have also been the same way, and it sounds like IGN Girlfight are really into RPGs and story-driven games as well, so it could be a trend. Could publishers use these elements to market their core games more towards women?

As an example, one of my friends only played a few games sporadically when we were young and to the best of my knowledge hasn't played much since. However, she started watching her boyfriend play Assassin's Creed 2 and got so into the story and the character of Ezio that she just had to play it for herself, and now she's hooked and considering getting a PS3 for herself. Ta-da! Converted!

And a question for you guys: Have you played Cooking Mama? :)

That went well.  And even though it's not my thread, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it may be okay for you female gamers to talk about more than female gaming.  Movies, music, pro-wrestling, power tools--nothing is off limits!  Just don't go girlying up the place with your scented candles or anything.
