First one I ever did was in Pokemon Red. My goal was to NOT use the Missingo glitch through out the entire game. Pokemon Yellow was my next. My challenge was to LET my rival win. Not easy cause I enjoyed giving him the beat down.
Hmm...Tales of Symphonia. Getting Eternal Apprentice titles was fun. Had to use the Wooden Sword until a certain point in the game when you defeat a boss. The second time I got it I made it harder. There is one part in ToS where you can skip ahead a bit. Instead of taking a boat from the fishing village to Palmacosta, you can go north and take a bridge to the other continent. Made it take a lot longer to get the title. Harder too.
Tales of Vesperia. My challenge was to do 200 hits with Yuri alone. Got over 100 easy but after that I had some trouble.
Kingdom Hearts. Beat Sephiroth at level 70 or less. I was able to beat him at level 59 but the battle took forever and I lost more times than I want to count. Only have done it once because that was all the gratification I needed.
Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku was the first game I tried to do a speed run on. Tried to beat the game quickly while still maxing out every thing. 3 hours and 25 minutes was my fastest. I could've gone faster but I didn't go through the cutscenes quickly. I don't remember if I couldn't or not but I know I just didn't skip them.
Playing any Japanese game to completion with no guide. I mean a game in full Japanese language. I already know I can't beat Final Fantasy II, though I didn't like it English either so it doesn't matter. Playing through Final Fantasy I and IV on the WonderSwan Color . Final fantasy I on the WSC still has it to where you have to save at an Inn. It really does seem more like an update in graphics than anything else. Final Fantasy IV is just fun. I still have a few other games in Japanese too. Star Hearts for the WonderSwan is currently taking some time. Unlike the FF titles, the game wasn't released in English so its harder. My fault for playing in a language I don't fully understand. Same with Final Fantasy V for the Super Famicom.
I know I've beaten Super Mario World before beating the second Koopa but that's easy enough to do.
Elite Beat Agents. Losing sections on purpose just to see the story in each scenario plays out.
I know I've gotten more but most of them go to try and get 100% completions in games.
