Not as good, although both past titles didn't have what's against R3:

Resistance: FoM was the best PS3 launch title & launched in a holiday.

Resistance 2 had FoM word of mouth to back it up and also launched in a holiday.

Resistance 3 (as leatherhat so cleverly put together) is much like an appetizer for the big dinner and also doesn't have the holiday rush to help it this time around. Didn't help that R2 tarnished the name a little bit.

I'm sure the legs will be better than R2 simply because it's getting pretty damn good reviews and once people figure out it's actually an awesome game it will pick up.
