how do you get rid of stock that you won't be selling anymore? ridiculously low prices? hmm... |
Well, they were doing it on Black Friday to counter Best Buy's ad. At the Wally Worlds I frequent, there are more Blu Ray discs than HD DVDs, but I have yet to see more than one standalone BR player besides the PS3. Wally World is about making loot. For them to drop it makes absolutely no sense.
For Target to do that does, seeming they cater to a certain clientele.
To the person who said DVDs would be dead in a few years - please, get real. The vast majority of folks will NOT pay over $100 for an HD player and won't pay $30 for a movie. As long as there are $5 bins of DVDs, you can forget HD media/players going mainstream. The price is too high for the average consumer, but for early adopters, they don't care.
