Erm...going by this article I'd say that the author is unaware of a few major factors regarding the 3DS and the U:
1) The 3DS has been flying off shelves since the price cut
2) The 3DS has plenty of first party system sellers to come yet
3) Going by what we've heard from both IBM and AMD the U is going to be 4 or 5 times more powerful than the PS3 and 360...given that, third party multiplatform games will have far superior eye candy and will attract hardcore gamers to the platform
4) Nintendo have guaranteed that the U will fly off shelves in Japan thanks to Dragon Quest X being launched either at launch or soon after launch
