Because the Classic Controller Pro was a design requested by Capcom as the best form of control for Monster Hunter Tri--the new peripheral for 3DS appears to be intended to replicate that design and control scheme.

so could you just not use the regular Classic for MH instead?? Lets not kid ourselves, besides Pro looking more like the other systems' controllers, its the same thing as the regular one, there are no extra buttons or anything. IMHO, Ninty made the classic controller, because they KNEW that some games on the system would just be better for it. VC games needed it, fighting games, etc.  If they had the same kind of hingsight, then they would have just have the 3ds have the other stick in the first place. But at least they are rectifying it
