Nah, America's more into Nintendo and Europe's more ino Sony, that's why.

America is more into Nintendo's 3D games than the rest of the world. Split between Japan/America/Europe in millions (approximately):

Nintendo 64: 5/21/6. Gamecube: 4/12/5.

Based on this, America will be the region where the 3DS will suffer the lowest drop in lifetime sales percentage-wise when compared to the DS.

I agree that America will see the lowest drop, though the difference between regions won't be as huge as with GC/N64 (not saying you argue that).

The pattern is clear with home consoles, but it doesn't mean 3DS will meet the same fate, considering it's a handheld, even if you think of it as a portable GC/N64.

After all, NES and SNES weren't so successful in Europe either, but their portable 'counterparts' (GB and GBA) did well. That may be the case with 3DS.
