To get back to the 3DS, Nintendo shouldn't have made a 3D system in the first place. A generational leap in horsepower and relying on old strengths would have sealed the deal. Launch the system at or below $200 with an actual sequel to New Super Mario Bros. and they would have been fine. The circle pad should have gone below the d-pad to make it clear that 2D games will still be the primary type of gameplay. Also, it's much easier to operate a circle pad in such an awkward position than a d-pad.

I disagree. I think Nintendo making a 3D system was the perfect follow up to the DS. It's very innovative and it does add to the gaming experience in my opinion. I reckon this 3d shit will pick up soon and all the kiddies will have to have a 3DS in no time. It's like looking through a window into another world. Kids eat that shit up.

Also the circle pad replacing the d-pad makes the console feel very next generation. Mario Kart will feel so fresh in comparison to the DS version. It will be a must have in no time amongst all the kids.
