Battlefield 3 Pre orders top 1.25 mill, expectations rise from 8 to 11 million first year

I wonder if I should just preorder the damn game to get the map pack for free... what do they normally cost? $5 or $10... if $5 I may wait for a sale.. if $10 I might as well pre-order it.
