There is lag on HDTV depending on the settings. My son notice the lag (delay) while playing Guitar Heroes 3 (ps2) as the timing was wrong. The lag is not there in Game mode which makes me wonder if the lag is coming from the HDTV "upscaling". (PS2 as well as Wii would be upscaled). My HDTV upscaling is just as good if not better than PS3 upscaling which helps DVD look better.
Also note that upscaling a SD game on HDTV will make jagged edges more noticeable, kind of the opposide effect of anti-aliasing.
