You underestimate the degree to which Japan loves Dragon Quest. The sales of Nintendo consoles that will result from this will be such that Wii U's rather limited supply at the time (if its a simultaneous launch) will be diminished, forcing users into buying Wii to play this, and that's not to speak of the massive base available for the game already

If the release of both versions is staggered, then it will help both platforms more

Edit: and of course both versions will come to the West. We're talking about a game that's actually big here
