The better question to ask IMO, is how many more copies could NSMB Wii sell if it were an even better game?

Personally, I'm not into the multiplayer aspect in the least, but whatever, it doesn't hurt to include it. The thing is, NSMB DS wasn't built around this dynamic and its sales are similarly stellar. I just think that the DS game suits the DS wonderfully whereas the Wii version could have been much, much better; more akin to something as deep and amazing as Super Mario World as far as single player.

That's difficult to answer, because NSMB Wii already sold amazingly well as it is. It released three and a half years after the DS game, but is only about four million copies behind in sales.

Personally I would say that NSMB Wii is okay as it is and Nintendo should have made a sequel with a Super Mario World like map and actually new world themes for this holiday season. Nobody would have complained and the sales of the first game would have gotten a boost by the interest sparked with a sequel.

That Super Mario World like map is the only thing I missed in the game... Btw let me ask you a question, how many copies you think New Super Mii can sell if released in the Wii U launch window?
