And there is nothing wrong with liking the XBOX 360 more than the PS3, it's just when you are going against the grain, you have to try to keep that opinion to yourself or at least give a detailed explanation as to why you think it is better. It is more than OK to defend your preferred console if it recieves unfair criticism but only within reason (no insulting the other console etc). And yeah, it's just the fact that we look at genres differently. I don't think shooting is the dominant game mechanic in Uncharted, but even if I did, I still wouldn't label it a shooter over Action / Adventure because almost every game released these days is expected to have some form of gunplay in them, I only start to think of it as a shooter when shooting is one of the only mechanics. Anyway, Shooter, Action / Adventure is spot on. |
See that's the thing, I don't feel I'm going against the grain. I feel Halo and Gears sell well because they are just damn good games. Same with Gran Turismo, Forza, and Uncharted. I don't think you can buy sales with just marketing.
I rarely push the lesser product, in a dispute between Alan Wake and Heavy Rain, I won't try to push Alan Wake as supperior to Heavy Rain (although I prefered it). I know Alan Wake is the generally accepted inferrior game because of weaker sales, review, and hype among console owners.
Also I never insult other peoples opinions. If you ever had a real chance to debate with me, you will see that. Worst case what happens is someone who disagrees with me will flip out and get banned because, well someone has a different view then them. People insult me, but I don't insult back, this is an online forum. I think people who can't hold a civil debate here are just pathetic.
Anyway we agree on Uncharted. Different views, but we still can to a rational conclusion.
