Will the launch of PSV affect PS3 sales in Japan?

I dont believe it will. While they have mentioned that power of the PSV will be comparable to ps3, they have also gone to lengths to demonstrate that it is very different from the ps3 with features ranging from dual touchscreens to cameras to AR setup to games that are new IPs such as the Little deviants etc (even tho a number of games are simple ports/based on ps3 IPs). THE MOST important features in differentiating it from the ps3 however are the cloud gaming ability, the ability to use the PSV as a ps3 controller and finally the cross PSV/PS3 online gameplay. All of these emphasise use of the PSV IN TANDEM with the ps3 rather than REPLACING the ps3 and this is how fans and critics alike seem to see the PSV - not as something that will take sales away from the ps3 but something that will enhance their ps3 gameplay. Point is - NO it will NOT affect ps3 sales.
