There's no guarantee that the first person you get married to will be your soul mate forever. (1)If, I'm not mistaken, 50% of married couples divorce. I have no source as I heard it about a year through the radio. Anyways, I'm not sure what your views on divorce are but it's safe to say most people see it as a common practice. At the end of the day, saving yourself until after marriage is pointless. Sex is a natural thing, the more fuzz you created around it, its practices and when God thinks it's the right time to do it only creates more curiosity in young lovers. All that needs to be said is that you need to have protection every single time. (2)And the masturbation thing is just stupid. Are we just suppose to ignore our natural urges? Those are the kind of people who end up raping. You can do as you like, but the waiting thing is unnecessary in this day in age. We aren't little kids asking what our wee-wees and hoo-has are for anymore.

(3)Also, demi and selena are the worst examples imaginable. They will end up like britney and rihanna in a few years. You are listening to Disney radio way too much buddy.

1- Yes, 52% of married Americans end in a divorce. This isn't true for almost every other country in the world (aside from some European nations, even they aren't so high). So no, most people don't see it as common practice; it is simply part of the American culture and quite frankly one of the most disgusting things to me.

2- Are you seriously linking masturbation to severe mental disabilities? I'm not trying to flame but that is one of the most ignorant statement I've read in this thread.

3- Out of your entire post, this is the only part that I agree with.

Jesus Chri...Alright, listen. I never linked anything to anything, and if I did, it wasn't my intention. As I just posted, it was a simple example of a worst case scenario. Ever heard, "curiosity killed the cat"? Basically what I tried to say. You make a certain topic taboo, the kids won't understand why and they will try to rebel aganist your word, more fuzz is created around that topic, and then they become more obsessed on it and the parents become more extreme and harder on the leash and the cycle goes on until the kid, now grown does something stupid because he had no info on that certain thing and just wanted to experience what it was like. I wouldn't say it was an ignorant post but more like poorly based or badly clarified or if you like, just ignorant I didn't mean to call abstinent people rapist

And I forgot to put the percent in divorce as it relates to america. My apologies

@pabid Don't sweat it. These kind of topics always bring out the worst in us. No feelings hurt and sorry if my point implied anything. Your right, it all starts with the parents. There is always a balance to things that we should always try to achieve. We can say and argue all we want but until you become a parent, most of us here have no idea how it's like.
