A new model or 3DS lite will eventually come since there`s a lot Nintendo can do to improve the console. Adding a dual on this future model would be good since games like shooters would play better.
The first PS controller didn`t have joysticks at all. So, adding another joystick to a new 3DS isn`t that strange. As long as games that support it do come after, it`s fine.
